Penn Consulting

Molly Penn has over 25 years experience in the nonprofit sector and is a recognized expert in strategy development and planning. Her focus areas include strategic planning, business planning, organizational development, executive coaching, board development and fund raising. During her 12 years as a consultant, Molly has become expert at focusing planning at a high-level and developing strong strategic goals.
Molly has worked with a variety of organizations in the fields of: the arts; faith groups; environment; human service; and community development. In each of her engagements, she raises the right questions to elevate the issues to high-level strategic priorities. Molly is known for her ability to synthesize complex ideas and focus thinking on the right issues.
In each of her focus areas, Molly works extensively with nonprofit boards and has become expert at helping them manage their process, strengthen their group dynamics in support of organizational development and develop their capacity to lead organizations.
Molly is one of the founding partners of the Consulting Collaborative, a strategic network of consultants with complementary expertise working together to improve the capacity of nonprofit organizations and foundations. She has also developed and led numerous workshops on topics ranging from strategic planning to adaptive planning to managing the board/CEO partnership. She was a guest lecturer in Grantwriting at SUNY Purchase.
Before becoming a consultant, Molly worked at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, The Actors Studio, and The New Jersey Shakespeare Festival. She is a registered fund raising consultant with the NYS Charities Bureau and a member of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers. She has an M.B.A. in Management from Fordham University, an M.F.A. in Arts Management from Columbia University, a B.A. in Dance from Bard College, and she is trained as a professional coach.
