Gail Goodman has over 30 years of management experience in government, nonprofit agencies and foundations. She has a broad perspective on the issues facing these organizations. Formerly the Director of the Management Analysis Unit of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, she has been a grants manager in both the public and private sectors. Gail was responsible for funding criminal justice programs for the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, directed an international fellowship program at the Open Society Institute, and as Assistant Director of the Westchester Community Foundation, directed and supervised grantmaking activities. She has experience in a wide range of issue areas, including criminal and juvenile justice, leadership, youth, immigration, education, mental and physical health, aging, and the arts. She has been consulting with nonprofits and foundations, part or full-time, since 1989 and has recently begun consulting with synagogues through her affiliation with the Synergy Program at the United Jewish Appeal. Gail has specialized training in planning and in mediation and conflict resolution.
